Short CV

Professor of Genetics. My research is mainly focused on the genetic study of migrating fish and other marine species and can be divided into three areas: 1) studies related to the complexity of genomes and their composition 2) studies related to behavior 3) related studies with the distribution and conservation of the populations. I have also collaborated with other researchers who work with other species (bacteria, flies, worms, birds, mammals, etc.) in aspects related to my research such as the identification of species, phylogenetic analysis and population structure. I have participated in more than 20 research projects (including 5 Europeans) being IP of 6 of them, I usually collaborate with the administrations responsible for salmon and trout repopulation programs and I regularly participate in science dissemination activities. I dedicate a lot of time to the training of researchers; in my 25 years of research I have supervised 13 doctoral theses, 10 DEAs, 10 final master projects and 18 final degree projects.
